The City of Salina operates an Industrial Pretreatment Program (the Program) designed to prevent industrial users from discharging pollutants into the sanitary sewer system (per Salina Code Section 41, Article IX - Industrial Pretreatment). This program follows established local, state (Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)), and federal (Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)) regulations to control discharges. Currently, the City of Salina permits, regulates, and inspects 12 entities as part of the Program.
